Overview

Unity Charity is seeking dynamic and passionate Media & Event Coordinators to support the preparation and execution of Unity Festival 2026, Canada’s leading Hip Hop festival celebrating culture, creativity, and community. Working as part of Unity’s Marketing & Communications Team, participants will help coordinate event logistics, support media operations, co-create culturally relevant promotional content, and enhance participant and audience experiences throughout the festival season.

Supervised by Unity’s Marketing & Communications Manager, participants will collaborate with artists, media teams, community partners, and youth workers to support one of Canada’s largest Hip Hop community events while gaining meaningful experience in event coordination, digital media, and arts administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistics with vendors, artists, and media partners leading up to and during Unity Fest 2026
  • Support on-site media operations and activations including photographers, videographers, press access, and live content capture
  • Assist in creating and adapting promotional materials for digital and print platforms
  • Support live social media engagement across Unity’s platforms during events and activations
  • Assist with event technology setup, equipment tracking, and inventory management
  • Collect and organize attendance, engagement, and participant feedback data for evaluation and reporting
  • Collaborate with Unity staff and artists to create meaningful and engaging participant experiences at summer events and activations

Ideal Candidate:

  • Interest in event planning, media, arts administration, communications, or community engagement
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced and collaborative environments
  • Passionate about Hip Hop culture, youth arts, and community impact
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, Canva/Adobe Suite, Google Workspace, or related digital tools
  • Available to work on-site during Unity Fest 2026 on July 18th and related summer events

Participant Eligibility Criteria:

To be hired under Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ), participants must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee status in Canada
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Be legally entitled to work in Ontario

Wages:

Participants will be paid $18.00 per hour for 31 hours per week over a 9-week term, beginning June 8, 2026. Wages are paid bi-weekly by direct deposit, with all applicable statutory deductions applied.
